Today I started on an exciting personal & professional adventure. I became the proud owner of my own Rodan + Fields skin care business.
WHAT is Rodan + Fields?
WHY am I doing this?
HOW am I going to do this?
This year we were so excited as Aunty Ang, Uncle Mikey and Issy were going to be spending Christmas with us and Phil was going to have off for the first time EVER!
Typical in the hotel world, Phil got the phone call 2 weeks prior to our Aussie families arrival that they needed him to go to the Big Island for the holidays and work... Ho HUM! Initially, we were very disappointed, but we adjusted our plans and all flew to the Big Island for 10 days. While Phil had to work, we played and somehow he still managed to get Christmas Day off. Woop Woop.
Phil, the kids and I spent a few days at The Fours Seasons, Hualalai before Ang, Mikey & Issy arrived over. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and in typical Four Seasons fashion... we were spoilt rotten. We enjoyed quality time together, swimming, playing and eating good food! Our room was amazing and was even equipped with the most gorgeous outdoor shower! Total bliss!
After our few days in the hotel, we then moved into our villa where the Leckies joined us. Our villa was just a gorgeous setting for our Christmas Holiday... we had our own pool/spa and views to die for!
We absolutely loved our "makeshift" Christmas on the Big Island with family and couldn't have imagined it any way...
Lesson learned.... Stay Calm and Carry on :)
After much anticipation madam finally got her FIRST hair cut. We told her she couldn't move... she took it literally and wouldn't even crack a smile!
Thanksgiving has become such a special holiday for us! Not growing up in America it was always a bit of a foreign concept but it is a holiday that has definitely grown on us and is quickly becoming one of our favorites. How great is it to spend time to just reflect on what you are thankful for and all that we have!
This year we got to spend it with our favorite Oahu family.... The Grove/Beckers! Special friends from our Lanai days and we are definitely feeling blessed to have them in our lives!
The kids made us all our beautiful headdresses and we just had the best time... eating, drinking and laughing with good friends who have become our family!
Feeling Thankful.... for there is always something to be thankful for!
Happy Thanksgiving y'all.
Dr Seuss & Insects was the theme this year..... For no reason other than cute and available costumes!
This holiday is another "American" tradition that has totally grown us. I mean... who doesn't love dressing up with your kids and going and collecting candy from neighbors!
We walked the neighboring community for about an hour and got copious amounts of candy! So much so, that the kids decided they wanted to give some of it to a homeless man we pass daily on the way to swimming lessons. Probably not the best thing for the gentleman, but it was thought that counts.... (and secretly it got it out of our house :))
After much excitement and patiently waiting... today she finally turned 3! Isla's special day was spent just as she wanted it... school and swimming with chocolate cake and hot-dogs for dinner!
We did have a sneaky wee surprise planned.... breakfast with Mickey Mouse on Saturday at the Aulani Disney Resort. WAHOO!
A truly magical experience.... To see the wonder in the kids eyes is so special. How lucky we are......
They say.... "If you are lucky enough to live in Hawaii you are lucky enough". Ain't that the truth!!!!
We feel so blessed and lucky to be back in Hawaii. For us, this is such a special place and it really did feel like returning home (despite living on a different island). We have great friends here, the weather is perfect and everyday is a little bit like vacation!
Hawaii... we are grateful to be back! Maholo!
After 2 wonderful years it is time for us to move on again..... We came to the City of Brotherly Love sight unseen and with no expectations and leave with full hearts and fond memories (sans the ice storms!). We were blessed to have the best neighbors who became our family and friends who will last a life time.
Whatever you have heard about Philly, its all wrong! This city is full of culture, fitness, great food and lots of heart! Two hours to NYC & Baltimore and three to Washington DC.... you really do have some of the nations greatest cities at your fingertips!
We will miss our friends and this special place but until next time..... ALOHA!!!!!!
Today the boys participated in The Great Amazing Race. Set up by an ex-NFL player and trainer who travels the country and offers this family friendly "Amazing Race" in different cities around the USA. The obstacles are child friendly but challenging enough for an adult and require some fitness and a myriad of other skillls (including face painting).
The boys raced against other families, couples, team mates & siblings. It was well organized and so much fun.
Isla and I can't wait to join them next time...
Ryles was so excited and so determined to WIN.... and that they did! Sooooo proud!
Ryley turned 6 on April 14th! He wanted to spend the day at the Jersey Shore and then just have the neighbors over for cake and a few games. We decided on a Ninja Turtle theme and went from there.
Our day was filled with ninja turtle costumes, silly string fights, over 300 water balloons, backyard cricket and good friends. Such a fun and easy way to spend the day!
Daddy even decorated a delicious Ninja Turtle Cake for him....
We sent our friends home with some Ninja Turtle Favors and way too many M&Ms...
A great day celebrating our little, BIG man! I think their faces say it all.....
